Facial Treatment

Facial Treatment at DR. SUPRANEE CLINIC Thonglor

Most treatments at the clinic work by creating controlled damage and letting the body's repair response improve the skin — heat from radiofrequency, thermal points from ultrasound, pigment broken apart by laser.

The devices in this category do the opposite. They destroy nothing, using low-level energy to help skin cells function better instead. There is no wound, no downtime, they can be repeated often, and they suit skin that is sensitive, reactive, or currently inflamed.

Both are used in two ways: as a treatment in their own right for inflammatory skin conditions, or alongside other procedures to help the skin recover faster.

Comparing the Devices

DeviceTechnologyBest suited toHow often
LDM-MED Ultrasound alternating between 1 / 3 / 10 MHz every 1-10 milliseconds (Wellcomet, Germany) Dry and dehydrated skin, sensitive skin, redness, rosacea, inflammatory acne, scarring, hypertrophic scars, bruising and swelling 10-30 minutes per session · once or twice a week
LLLT Low-level laser light delivered without touching the skin — Blue 415 nm and Yellow + Infrared 590/830 nm (Healite II) Inflammatory acne, inflamed and swollen skin, recovery after procedures, bruising, faster wound healing Blue Light twice a week for four weeks · daily in the first days after a procedure

Individual results will vary.

How They Differ

LDM-MED — micro-mechanical stimulation

LDM stands for Local Dynamic Micro-massage. What sets it apart is the rapid alternation between frequencies every 1-10 milliseconds, faster than the tissue can adapt to. Each time the frequency shifts, the size of the micro-massage unit within the tissue changes with it, and those rapid pressure changes are the mechanical stimulus acting on the skin.

This is why a single fixed frequency cannot reproduce the same effect, and why the mechanism is fundamentally different from treatments that work through heat.

Its signature programme is Water-Drop Therapy, built specifically around hydration: Drop-Lock to improve moisture retention, Drop-Control to balance uneven oil production, and Drop-Lifting for smoother, firmer skin.

LLLT — light that improves cell activity

LLLT uses light at an energy level low enough that no heat accumulates. It works by improving mitochondrial activity within the cells, and the light is delivered without any contact with the skin at all.

The clinic uses the Healite II, cleared by the US FDA, with two light options:

  • Blue Light 415 nm — reduces P. acnes bacteria, used for acne
  • Yellow + Infrared 590 + 830 nm — reduces inflammation and inflamed acne, reduces bruising, speeds wound healing, supports skin rejuvenation, and eases muscle soreness

The doctor selects the light type according to each individual's condition.

Which One Is Right

SituationUsual starting point
Dry, dehydrated skin with poor elasticityLDM-MED Water-Drop Therapy
Sensitive skin, persistent redness, rosaceaLDM-MED
An active acne flareLLLT Blue Light, or combined with LDM-MED
Redness and swelling after a laser treatmentLLLT Yellow + Infrared
Scarring, hypertrophic scars, keloidsLDM-MED, subject to the doctor's assessment
Bruising or swelling after an impact or procedureLDM-MED or LLLT

The two overlap where inflammation is concerned and are often used together. The doctor will assess and plan the sequence.

Used Alongside Other Procedures

This is the most frequent role for both devices. Because neither creates a wound or accumulated heat, they can follow other procedures without interfering with recovery.

  • After PicoWay — LLLT can be done daily during the first 2-3 days, helping redness, swelling, itching and stinging settle faster.
  • After laser or radiofrequency treatments — LDM-MED supports the skin while it recovers.
  • Alongside acne programmes — paired with Nordlys, which treats inflammatory acne by slowing sebum production at its source. See the Cosmetic Laser category.

Who This Category Particularly Suits

  • Anyone with sensitive or reactive skin, especially after a poor experience with heat-based treatments
  • Anyone whose skin is currently inflamed and therefore not ready for laser
  • Anyone hesitant about aesthetic treatment who would rather start with something non-invasive
  • Anyone wanting consistent, ongoing skin care that does not disrupt their schedule
