CoolSculpting Elite is the advanced version developed from the original CoolSculpting. It can eliminate excess fat accumulated in various areas of the body, especially in areas that don't respond to exercise or diet control, without surgery/liposuction, without the need for general or local anesthesia, no injections, no recovery time needed, and delivers real results.
CoolSculpting Elite uses controlled cooling to destroy fat cells from the United States. It was invented and developed by Harvard University scientists. By using cold temperature of -11 degrees Celsius, fat cells are frozen into ice crystals. Then, the cell walls are destroyed, fat cells die through apoptosis, and the waste products are naturally eliminated through the lymphatic system over the next 2-3 months.
Treatment with CoolSculpting Elite is generally effective and safe.
One CoolSculpting Elite treatment session can reduce fat cells in the treated area by approximately 20-25%. In cases of thick fat layers, repeat treatments at the same spot may be needed 2-3 times or more.
Key Features of CoolSculpting Elite That Differ from Original CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting Elite has been redesigned and can treat 2 areas simultaneously at the same time. The applicator heads are completely redesigned with improved suction, better contouring, 18% more surface contact area, and 47% more tissue exposure to cooling compared to the original version. The applicator heads are lighter in weight, making treatment more comfortable.
Newly designed applicators
CoolSculpting Elite has 3 types of applicators used in treatment:
1. Curve applicators - For areas where fat forms pockets that can be grabbed or pinched.
- C80 - For reducing fat in areas such as under the chin, under the jawline, accessory breasts, and above the knee
- C120 - For reducing fat in curved/contoured areas such as abdomen, waist, back fat, bra fat, and under the buttocks (banana roll)
- C150 - For reducing fat in areas such as abdomen, waist, back fat, bra fat, and under the buttocks (banana roll) in people with larger body size
2. Flat applicators
- F125 - For reducing fat accumulation in areas such as upper arms, inner and outer thighs
- F165 - For fat accumulation in areas such as upper arms, inner and outer thighs in people with larger body size
3. Surface applicators
- S150 - For reducing fat accumulation in areas where fat cannot be pinched up, such as outer thighs, or abdomen/waist areas that have already been treated and are relatively flat

What are the steps in CoolSculpting Elite treatment?
- All patients will receive measurement and assessment of areas with fat accumulation to plan the treatment and select the most appropriate treatment area and type of applicator head
- Prepare the skin in the treatment area with a cold gel pad
- Position the applicator head in the planned location
- Release cooling to freeze fat (duration 35-75 minutes depending on the applicator head type)
- After the treatment time is complete, the treated area will be massaged for 2 minutes to break up the fat tissue
How long does the CoolSculpting Elite procedure take?
Normally, it takes 35 minutes per spot/area, but some applicator heads, including the C80 head used for treating under the chin, take 45 minutes per session, and the S150 head for treating inner and outer thighs takes 75 minutes.
Sensations during and after CoolSculpting Elite treatment
- When treatment begins, the applicator head uses vacuum pressure to pull tissue down into the cooling cup between the cooling panels. The vacuum pressure may cause a pulling or squeezing sensation in the treated area
- Then intense cold is released to freeze the fat cells under the skin
- Additionally, you may experience tingling sensations, pain, or cramping. These sensations generally gradually decrease and are replaced by a numbing sensation
- After removing the applicator, the treated area will appear red, which is a normal post-treatment occurrence. These symptoms last only 2-3 hours after treatment
- Numbness may occur in the treated area, which is a temporary symptom commonly experienced and usually disappears within a few hours
- After treatment, adverse effects that occur typically resolve quickly. Most patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately
Results from CoolSculpting Elite treatment
You can begin to see treatment results within approximately 3-4 weeks after treatment. Clinical studies show that CoolSculpting Elite can eliminate up to 20-25% of fat in the treated area.* Clear results will appear within 2-3 months. Fat cells destroyed in that area are cleared by the body and are not replaced.

For those with a body mass index greater than 25, we recommend using diet control combined with exercise to lose weight, and using CoolSculpting Elite to help reduce stubborn fat in specific areas that are difficult to reduce through diet control and exercise alone.
Q: Will the eliminated fat come back?
A: Fat cells destroyed by controlled cooling, after cell death, will be eliminated through the lymphatic system and disappear permanently. However, in the treated area, there will still be remaining fat cells. If you eat excessively and lack exercise, excess energy will be stored as subcutaneous fat as before.
